This workshop sponsored by AWIS featured a presentation
given by Amy Castoro, Irimi Group on "The Power of
Your Presence". Participants learned about the bodily and
linguistic constrictions that limit their actions and possibilities,
and experienced through practical exercises how their body
language can send messages that may be inconsistent with
their verbal communication.
Comments from a recent workshop:
"I had really relegated my presence in my interaction with
others to my sub-consciousness. As a result I was saying
one thing but my body was conveying a completely different message. As Amy would say, I was "not congruent". I am
convinced that by consciously paying attention to creating a leadership presence, I can gain a competitive advantage." "The information and insight Amy provided at the workshop was both thought provoking and beneficial. Her presentation style
provided a relaxed and open atmosphere which allowed the attendees to open up and provide their questions and
concerns." "I thought the workshop was one of the best
I have ever been to. I not only learned from her words but
also from the way she carried herself. I was sitting there
thinking YES this is everything that I knew to be true and
makes sense. I believe Amy Castoro gave valid information
not just how to prepare for a job interview but how to deal
with life as whole."
